    Default WebhostUK planning to upgrade its old E-Comm server

    Greetings,

    Recently the E-Comm server's hard drive went in Read-Only mode couple of times and thus hampering the performance output. Upon routine checkup we found that the server's hard drive needs replacement.

    Our main purpose for migration has been to get rid of old server hardware which have been a problem lately for our servers, we just got a brand new server which will have Nginx with following specifications which is 100% more powerfull that old servers in all aspects such as processor performance, memory allocation, data redundancy etc..

    New Server : Eagle.dnshostcentral.com
    Processor : Quad Core Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5606 @ 2.13GHz
    RAM : 8 GB DDR3 RAM
    Drives : 2 x 1000Gb SATA II configured with Raid5 + 1 x 1TB SATAII for Backup.
    Centos 5.5 64 bit
    WHM/Cpanel
    Rvskin + RVSitebuilder
    Softaculous



    We have scheduled the account migration to our new server tomorrow in the following maintenance window :

    Saturday 11th of June : 12.00am GMT

    IMPORTANT NOTE : Our datacenter agreed to switch all existing IP address over to new server so there won't be any issues with changing nameservers or any IP addresses, so we will first migrate all the data from old server to new server and once the migration is done. There will not be any kind of data loss during the migration procedure. To avoid further data loss after we have restored your accounts on new server,

    What exactly does this mean?
    Which of your clients will be affected?
    What is the expected downtime?

    Sorry, to provide in-complete information.

    All the clients who has hosting account with following plan / package will only get affected : http://www.webhost.uk.net/e-commerce_hosting.html All other have nothing to worry on this notification.

    Hope that clears all your doubts now.

    Im on the new server and there seems to a constant issue of an error coming up on websites saying 'Can't create/write to file '/tmp/#sql_fa7_0.MYI' (Errcode: 28)' - which relates to either your server sql temp file being full or a permissions issue.

    Ive spoken to all of your techs numerous times, and after about 10 minutes of head scratching, they 'appear' to fix it - only for it to come back maybe a few mins, hours or days later.

    Can someone tell me what this issue, is and how it can be PERMANENTLY fixed. It kills any site on your server using MYSQL.

    Agreed, there are some suggestions on the MySQL website :

    The most usual cause is reaching the disc space limit
