You can access cpanel of your account without pointing DNS to that server from your local machine with few settings.
1. Make sure that your account must exist on the server.
2. You need to do the following setting on yuor local machine.
go to c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\
edit hosts file and add the folowing
domain.com
Note: ipadress is the ip of server where your account is exist and domain.com is your domain name
then save the file
and access your control panel
